Driving to El Palmar is Easy
Manglar Lodge is located approximately 93 km from Panama City in the beach town of El Palmar, San Carlos, on Panama’s Pacific coast.

Driving from Panama City
Drive west from Panama City along the Pan-American Highway heading toward the Pacific beaches. You may take either the Bridge of the Americas or the Centennial Bridge.
After approximately 80 km, you will pass Coronado, where you will see shopping centers, supermarkets, restaurants such as McDonald's and KFC, and gas stations. At this point, you are only about 12 km from El Palmar.
Continue driving until you reach the town of San Carlos. You will see a Texaco gas station and police station on the left side.
About 500 meters after the Texaco station, you will find the entrance to El Palmar on the left. Across the road, there is a mini market.
Since there is a double yellow line, continue toward Río Mar and make a safe U-turn to enter El Palmar.
Once inside El Palmar, continue straight on the main road and take the last street on the left, next to the large antenna where the road ends. Manglar Lodge is located at the end of the street on the left-hand side.
Driving from Chiriquí or Los Santos
If you are driving from Chiriquí or Los Santos, continue east on the Pan-American Highway toward Panama City.
After passing Penonomé, continue through towns such as Antón, Río Hato, and Santa Clara.
You will pass signs for resorts such as Playa Blanca, Decameron, Casamar, and Río Mar.
About 2 km before El Palmar, slow down and look for Carlitos Pizza on the left-hand side. Directly across the road is the entrance to El Palmar Beach.
Once inside El Palmar, continue straight and take the last street on the left, next to the large antenna where the road ends. Manglar Lodge is at the end of the street on the left-hand side.
Taxi Service
If you are not driving, taxis are available from Panama City or Tocumen Airport.

Traveling by Bus
Take a taxi to Albrook Bus Terminal — usually around $5 from most parts of Panama City.
From Albrook, take a bus to San Carlos — around $3.50.
Before boarding, tell the driver you are going to El Palmar Beach to see if they can drop you closer to the beach.
If no San Carlos bus is available, you may take one to Penonomé or Antón and stop in San Carlos. From there, you can take a local taxi to El Palmar.
